Belfast Maine Inn: The White House Bed and Breakfast

Belfast

Belfast's downtown has great shops, galleries and restaurants.

The Historic City of Belfast has both the charm of yesteryear and the vitality of today: trendy shops along traditional streets,  unique restaurants, cozy coffee shops, bakeries, art studios and galleries, sailing and fishing boats, local theatre, outdoor concerts, festivals, and much more.
Belfast is a small American town, comfortable in its authenticity and, with its working waterfront, proudly proclaims its sedate bustle.

For the outdoor enthusiast, the area boasts six state parks for hiking along shorelines or wooded trails. Tee off at one of the four fine golf courses. Miles of rarely traveled roads make for excellent bicycling. Go horseback riding or play tennis or take a scenic tour on a private plane. And when the snows come, enjoy downhill skiing at the Camden Snow Bowl, which also has an exciting toboggan chute. There are extensive groomed cross-country skiing and snowmobiling trails. Take to the ice and lace up the skates or grab a rod and go ice fishing.

To sate culture craving, explore the Penobscot Marine Museum at Searsport, wander through the galleries at the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland, and enjoy the exhibits at the Owls Head Transportation Museum in Owls Head.
